Migrant workers at WOrwick Franklin Okdong Branch and Dux Academy Ulsan Campus have been unfairly dismissed. The sole reason for their dismissal is that they 'joined a labor union.'

In an atrocity aimed at dismantling the union, the employer fired every single member, leaving not one union member at the academies today. Strongly condemning this unfair dismissal forced through solely for the purpose of union-busting, the members are fighting a grueling battle.

​This is not just a problem for migrant workers in Ulsan.

​Every year, as contract renewal season approaches, E-2 visa native-speaking instructors welcome the year-end and new year with sighs of job insecurity rather than excitement. No matter how hard they teach, their tomorrow is never guaranteed. They live in a reality where they cannot even freely use their 'annual leave,' a basic right stipulated by the Labor Standards Act. In a harsh environment where they cannot rest when sick, and where merely claiming their rightful rights leads to job insecurity, their time stands still year after year.

​Even faced with the cold wall of the Ulsan Regional Labor Relations Commission’s dismissal decision, the union members have not given up and have begun a lonely legal struggle by appealing to the National Labor Relations Commission. To continue this long fight to protect their rights, your solidarity is desperately needed. Right now, we are severely lacking the 'legal fund' required to fight the massive wall in front of us.
